Download and install or reinstall Office , Office , or Office – Resolution
I have a suspicion that an automajik upgrade started in the dead of the night and then power went out. This computer arrived from HP preloaded without media. I’m not sure what you are doing to be able to run MS Outlook avoiding some accounts, do you have multiple Outlook Profiles?
You would get the option to select the Profile when you start Outlook. And if you have power outages I would suggest shutting down system when not in use. You can also modify win update so that there is an explicit notification to run any update. I’ll give ’em a try. I only guessed at power failure, although I can’t say anything like that happened. Yes – multiple profiles. Two from one server cable company , the other from the other server at work. Because I can reach all three from everywhere but my home desktop, I know the problem lies in the desktop’s OS or app software.
But where? None of those fixed the issue. I gave up can’t waste more time and downloaded Office Thereby overkilling the problem. Unsolicited bulk mail or bulk advertising. Any link to or advocacy of virus, spyware, malware, or phishing sites.

Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn’t match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Thanks for your feedback. I appear to have this same problem and it wasn’t instigated by me. I had a message about some updates needing installation and a restart was required.
Now I come back and I am getting a couple of messages in the File tab of Outlook Which I have been using for several years with no problems. Since the only thing that has occurred is an automatic update of my PC via the Auto Updates feature, I am at a loss as to why I am getting this fault.
While I did upgrade to Office a while back, I’ve continued to use Outlook with no problems. I exclusively use my ATT email account and don’t mess with Hotmail or any other mail accounts so connector seems to be a moot point. Outlook was working this morning, my PC asked for a restart to continue with an auto update. I accepted, and now Outlook is broken. I was able to resolve this on my own, in the end. I did two things to resolve my problem.
As a side note, I am running Windows 8. First, I uninstalled the update that was the probable culprit, since it had a date which was the same as when the problem started. This did not appear to resolve the problem, as I still had the same error messages in Outlook I do feel this update was the root of the problem because it was the only thing that occurred on the computer remotely close to when the problem appeared.
Clicked on Office and an option to Uninstall or Change showed at the top of the window.
